Free Continuing Education is available in ClinicalKey for Nursing (CKN) under the Clinical Updates content. To earn credit, you must register for a CE account, separately from your CKN personal account. Elsevier is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Follow these steps to access CE (see PDF below for screen shots):

1) To access, go to ClinicalKey for Nursing, then click the CE link in the upper right corner.

2) Select a Clinical Update topic. You can also search for Clinical Update topics in the main search box.

3) Successful completion of an activity is determined by achieving a score of 80% or higher on the activity test and completion and submission of the activity evaluation. After completion of the activity, click Go to test.

4) Enter your CE login and password, or click the Self Registration link to register and begin the process.

More detailed step-by-step instructions on obtaining CEs in Clinical Key is available below.

Please note that the Clinical Update/CE feature is not linked to Allina Health’s SABA Learning Management System. You should always maintain a copy of your certificate of completion for your records and any other supporting materials required.
