DEIB initiatives includes diversifying the workforce, recognizing connections, creating supportive environments where individuals from diverse backgrounds may experience microaggressions, unconscious bias, and discrimination, which can negatively impact long-term cardiovascular health.

Diverse providers, particularly cardiologists represent a very small percentage of the overall cardiology workforce.
